Williamsport, PA -- Energy In Depth, working in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Association, Marcellus Shale Coalition, American Petroleum Institute, among others, will host a free event at the Community Arts Center on January 25, 2011 from 5:00pm to 7:30 pm. Public participation is strongly encouraged for this gathering that will highlight best practices being employed in the Marcellus Shale as well as industry-wide transparency initiatives like FracFocus.org.
FracFocus.org is a a voluntary disclosure registry that provides the public with individual, and searchable, hydraulic fracturing solutions on a well-pad by well-pad basis, including in-depth information on the additives used in the hydraulic fracturing process in local communities. The event will feature environmental engineers, and other subject matter experts, that will be available for a panel presentation and question and answer session where attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions on a number of issues surrounding the production of natural gas from shale. Topics include the process of hydraulic fracturing, best practices of production companies, and the economic impact natural gas development is providing locally and nationally. Tom Shepstone, EID Marcellus Campaign Manager, will moderate the event.
Make plans to be in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on January 25th, to learn about this much talked about process and exciting website. It should be a very educational and fun night, and just the beginning of what will be a major movement to educate local communities on the natural gas industry.
